We were awarded National Teaching School status in 2013. A National Teaching School is responsible for meeting some key objectives each academic year as set by the NCTL and Dfe. These are referred to as "The Big 3".  These are the areas we are working on and are measured against :

  • CPD/Succession Planning
  • School to School Support/Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs)
  • Initial Teacher Training (ITT)/ Research and Development (R&D)

As the Teaching School has developed over the last few years, the approach to updating our Alliance members and partners has changed. We understand that time is precious and it is not always easy for our Alliance Heads to attend numerous dates. With this in mind,  we are now holding a half termly meeting at Colmore for all Senior Leaders within our schools. The purpose of these meetings is to update our Alliance on the work that is being done, share new initiatives that need ideas and input and to discuss the current climate in our Alliance schools and indeed across the city.

Our aim is for these meetings to be as interactive as possible to ensure we are meeting the needs of our schools and ensure that voices are being heard. Working parties are assembled to work on key initiatives for the Teaching School. We currently have a working party looking at staff  mental health and well being across our Alliance.

The next meeting dates for 2017 is:

  •  Thursday 18th May -  09.30am - 11.00am
